Competition humanoids are a spec class of their own: league rules fix size and weight classes, and teams need platforms that survive contact, accept deep modification, and have parts availability mid-season. Community support matters as much as hardware.
For competition, league eligibility and size class matters: RoboCup classes are strict — buy for the class you actually compete in. For competition, impact durability and part supply matters: competition robots fall hard and often; mid-season spare-part supply is existential. For competition, low-level access matters: teams win on custom control — you need actuator-level APIs, not just high-level demos.
